The Metric route includes some amazing views as you leave Larkspur towards Palmer lake. But this route takes you out of Douglas county and say hello to El Paso county. We will take you along the Palmer Divide Rd east and then south through a multitude of scenic views and breathtaking panoramas. Be sure to stay carbed up and hydrated at the four aid stations along the way.
As you head back west on Baptist Rd, don’t forget to stop and breath in the magnificent view of Pikes peak right in front of your eyes. Perfect spot to get a selfie or perhaps meet up with friends for a quick photo before the descend. You will be heading towards Monument, a beautiful hidden gem of a town in the west side of hwy I-25. Be sure to follow all traffic laws as you cruise by the town. As you find Hwy 105 head toward Palmer lake.
After a short rest at Palmer lake aid station be ready to cruise down-wind on Highway 105 and head towards Tomah Rd. You might want to take advantage of another aid station at Tomah before the long Climb, Strava Challenge and fans awaiting to cheer you on the ascend! As you descend Tomah Rd be sure to take a right turn on Bear Dance Rd just before you hit the frontage road. Continue through the beautiful golf course community towards Perry Park Avenue and then back to the Park where there will be cold beverages, great food, massages and more waiting for you in the Food & Fun Zone.
